My Road Trip

What is there to say about Upstate New York? It’s pretty like Wisconsin, mostly flat rolling hills with forests and lots of farms. We are on a highway that follows and occasionally crosses a canal. They call it eerie, but I honestly don’t understand why. Today is a really quiet and uneventful day. Well, mostly. My people stopped to have lunch in Terrytown, which is near Sleepy Hollow. My man says this is where all the women are single because the men are headless. My man and my lady came back from lunch simply reeking of lamb... oh, but it smelled so good I wanted to lick their fingers. It was from gyros at my lady’s new favorite Greek restaurant.

It was only a short distance from there before we got to the Mew York / Connecticat border. There was sudden excitement and my people kissed and told me we were almost home - no more car trip!
Whew.. I thought it might never end. I’ve been in this car for almost a year now. Strangely, though, the moon hasn’t even gone through one phase in all this time. This Connecticat place is really nice, so far. Lots of trees and most places look like a well-tended forest garden. Beautiful stone walls line the roads and I see a lot of other cats in the windows of houses we pass.

Our new home! It’s a huge building, bigger than any we’ve been in yet. The room is bigger too, although it only has one bed. There is a kitchen, though, and a corner turned into a living room. Air conditioning! Ahhh.. this is almost as good as my La Kwinta favorite.
